Setup guide for Logo QuizVisuella

Logging

Logging lets you see what's happening inside your app in production — how many players are guessing logos, whether purchases are completing, if the app is crashing on certain devices, and so on. It's like having a real-time diary of every important thing your app does, running in the cloud.

The app ships with logging support for Axiom — a hosted log service that's easy to set up and has a generous free tier that covers most small apps.

Logging is entirely optional. If you leave it off, the app runs exactly the same — nothing is sent, nothing is buffered.

What gets logged

Once enabled, the app automatically sends structured events for:

  • App lifecycle — launches, moving to the background, returning to the foreground.
  • Guesses — correct, incorrect, and skipped guesses.
  • Hint usage — which hints players spend coins on.
  • In-app purchases — started, completed, or failed.
  • Ads — when interstitials and rewarded ads are shown, and when rewarded ads are actually watched to completion.
  • Crashes — also mirrored to Firebase Crashlytics.

Each event includes a per-install anonymous ID and the current app version — no personal information about the player is sent.

Step 1 — Create an Axiom account and dataset

  1. Sign up at app.axiom.co with your email. It's free.
  2. Once signed in, note the URL in your browser — that's your region. Axiom has two regions:
    • US region — https://cloud.axiom.co
    • EU region — https://api.eu.axiom.co
  3. In the Axiom sidebar, go to Datasets → New dataset.
  4. Give the dataset a name (e.g. logo-quiz-prod). This is like a folder where all your app's events will land.
  5. Save.

Step 2 — Create an API token

The app needs an API token to send events to your dataset:

  1. In Axiom, go to Settings → API tokens.
  2. Click New API token.
  3. Give it a name (e.g. "Logo Quiz mobile app").
  4. Under Permissions, grant Ingest access to the dataset you created in Step 1.
  5. Save.
  1. Copy the token — it starts with xaat-…. Save it somewhere safe — Axiom won't show it to you again after you close the page.

Step 3 — Fill in the Setup Page

Open the Setup Page in your browser and go to the Logging section. Turn on Enable Logging at the top, then fill in:

  • Axiom base URL — the URL matching your region:
    • https://cloud.axiom.co for US (this is the default).
    • https://api.eu.axiom.co for EU.
  • Dataset name — the name of the dataset you created in Step 1 (e.g. logo-quiz-prod).
  • API token — the xaat-… token from Step 2.

Click Save.

Step 4 — Run sync

As with every other setup step, run the sync command in your terminal:

bash
make sync

Viewing your logs

Back on Axiom:

  1. Go to Streams to watch events flow in live as players use the app.
  2. Go to Query to search for specific events (e.g. "all failed purchases in the last 24 hours").
  3. Go to Dashboards to build charts showing trends over time (guesses per day, crash rate, etc.).

A tip on datasets

It's a good idea to use one dataset for development and another for production, so your test noise doesn't drown out real user events. Just create two datasets in Axiom, and update the Dataset name field on the Setup Page each time you switch between building for testing versus for release.

Cost

Axiom's free tier is generous enough for the first few thousand daily active users. If you outgrow it, you can either move to a paid Axiom plan, or (advanced) point the app at a different logging service by changing the base URL — any service that speaks Axiom's HTTP protocol works, including your own server.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Where do I get the latest version of the app?
On your CodeCanyon Downloads page, signed in with the account you bought the app with. Updates are free for life — see the Upgrade Code page for the safe way to move to a new version.
  • Do I need a Mac to publish on the App Store?
Yes. Building an iOS `.ipa` file requires Xcode, which only runs on macOS. Android builds work on any operating system.
  • Why don't in-app purchases work when I install the APK on my phone?
In-app purchases, Play Games and other Google Play services only unlock when the build is uploaded to a Play Console track (Internal testing is the fastest) and installed via the Play Store on a device signed in as a tester.
  • Do you provide the source code?
Yes — every CodeCanyon purchase includes the full Flutter source code plus all assets, so you can customise anything.
  • Can I use the same license for two different apps?
No. Envato's Regular License covers a single end product. If you want to publish a second app based on the same template, buy a second license on CodeCanyon.
  • How long does store review take?
Google Play: a few days for the very first submission, then a few hours to a day for updates. Apple App Store: usually 24–48 hours per submission.
