AdMob

AdMob is Google's mobile advertising service — one of the two ad providers built into the app. Once configured, it shows two types of ads inside the game:

  • Interstitial ads — full-screen ads shown between finished games.
  • Rewarded ads — opt-in video ads that hand the player extra coins for watching.

You earn money each time an ad is shown. AdMob handles the ad content, the payments, and everything in between.

Third-party service — costs & fees. AdMob is a Google service, independent from CodeCanyon and Visuella. It's free to sign up, but Google may withhold a processing fee on ad revenue, apply payment-threshold rules, and change its pricing at any time. Review the current terms on admob.google.com before enabling ads.

Pick one — AdMob or AppLovin Max

The app supports two ad providers, but you can only use one at a time. If you enable AdMob, leave the AppLovin Max page turned off, and vice versa.

If you're not sure which to pick, AdMob is the most popular choice and the easiest one to start with.

Step 1 — Create your AdMob account

If you don't already have one, sign up at admob.google.com with your Google account. AdMob is free to join, and Google pays you monthly once your earnings pass their payment threshold.

Step 2 — Add your app to AdMob

You need to add your app twice on AdMob — once for Android, once for iOS:

  1. In the AdMob dashboard, click Apps → Add app.
  2. Pick the platform (Android or iOS).
  3. If your app isn't published to the store yet, choose "No, my app isn't listed on a supported app store" and enter the app's name.
  4. AdMob gives you an App ID — it looks like ca-app-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX~YYYYYYYYYY (note the ~ in the middle, not /).
  5. Copy that App ID and keep it handy.
  6. Repeat for the other platform.

Step 3 — Create your ad units

For each app (Android and iOS), create two ad units:

  1. Open the app in AdMob.
  2. Click Ad units → Add ad unit.
  3. Choose Interstitial and give it any name (e.g. "Between games").
  4. AdMob gives you an Ad unit ID that looks like ca-app-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXX (note the /, not ~).
  5. Copy it and keep it handy.
  6. Repeat with Rewarded to create the second ad unit.

You should now have six IDs in total: two App IDs (Android + iOS) and four ad unit IDs (interstitial + rewarded, for Android + iOS).

Reminder about the format.

  • App IDs use a tilde (~), like ca-app-pub-…~….
  • Ad unit IDs use a slash (/), like ca-app-pub-…/…. Getting these two mixed up is the most common source of "no ads showing" issues.

Step 4 — Fill in the Setup Page

Open the Setup Page in your browser and go to the AdMob section. Turn on Enable AdMob at the top, then fill in:

For Android:

  • AdMob app ID — the Android App ID from Step 2.
  • Interstitial unit ID — the Android interstitial ID from Step 3.
  • Rewarded unit ID — the Android rewarded ID from Step 3.

For iOS:

  • AdMob app ID — the iOS App ID from Step 2.
  • Interstitial unit ID — the iOS interstitial ID from Step 3.
  • Rewarded unit ID — the iOS rewarded ID from Step 3.

Click Save.

Step 5 — Run sync

As with every other setup step, run the sync command in your terminal:

bash
make sync

Behind the scenes, this also writes your App IDs into the Android and iOS build configuration so ads start loading as soon as the app launches.

Ad settings — how often ads appear

You can control how often interstitial ads appear (games between two ads, daily reminder settings, etc.) from the Installation → General page. Start with the defaults and only adjust once you have real user data.

Very important — never click your own ads

Even a handful of clicks on your own live ads is enough for Google to permanently ban your AdMob account for "invalid activity" — and once banned, they generally won't let you back in. This applies to:

  • Clicking ads on your own device while testing.
  • Asking friends or family to click your ads.
  • Running the app on an emulator while ads are live.

Until your app is on the store and you've been paid at least once, treat every ad in your own app as untouchable. AdMob automatically shows real test ads when the app runs in development, so you can safely see the layout without risk.

The rewarded ad reward

When a player watches a rewarded ad in your app, they always get 20 coins, no matter what reward value you configure in the AdMob console. This is a fixed value inside the app.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Where do I get the latest version of the app?
On your CodeCanyon Downloads page, signed in with the account you bought the app with. Updates are free for life — see the Upgrade Code page for the safe way to move to a new version.
  • Do I need a Mac to publish on the App Store?
Yes. Building an iOS `.ipa` file requires Xcode, which only runs on macOS. Android builds work on any operating system.
  • Why don't in-app purchases work when I install the APK on my phone?
In-app purchases, Play Games and other Google Play services only unlock when the build is uploaded to a Play Console track (Internal testing is the fastest) and installed via the Play Store on a device signed in as a tester.
  • Do you provide the source code?
Yes — every CodeCanyon purchase includes the full Flutter source code plus all assets, so you can customise anything.
  • Can I use the same license for two different apps?
No. Envato's Regular License covers a single end product. If you want to publish a second app based on the same template, buy a second license on CodeCanyon.
  • How long does store review take?
Google Play: a few days for the very first submission, then a few hours to a day for updates. Apple App Store: usually 24–48 hours per submission.
